HOW TO USE: Tie the cord tie around your baby’s umbilical cord, approximately 2cm from your baby’s belly. DO NOT hold onto or pull on the sunbeam motifs when applying tension to the cord tie for tightening; instead, hold onto joining cord in between the motifs and pull firmly to tighten around the umbilical cord. Ensure that the tension is as tight as possible and then fasten with a knot. Cut the cord approximately 2cm from the cord tie and immediately dab the end of the cord with clean gauze or cotton wool to catch any blood, this will help to prevent the cord from becoming stained. Ensure that the motifs are not tucked into the baby’s nappy/diaper with each change; instead, place the motifs upwards, towards your baby’s chest to prevent staining and to ensure maximum comfort and convenience.
May be used with umbilical cleaning agents. However, try and limit the exposure of cleaning agents to the motifs and thread, as mush as possible, for extended quality of the cord tie.
