Used during the third trimester of pregnancy to help strengthen and tone the longitudinal muscle uterus in preparation for labour and childbirth.

May assist with labour and childbirth by strengthening and speeding up contractions to improve their efficacy and function. May help to shorten the duration of active and transitional labour and placental delivery. May help to ease labour pain and lower the risk of premature labour, gestation extending passed due dates, and postpartum haemorrhage. May help to ease afterbirth pains and shorten the postnatal bleeding period. As a rich galactagogue, it helps to promote an abundant breastmilk supply and also enriches the breastmilk with vital minerals and nutrients.
ADDITIONAL USES: Useful treatment for menstrual pains, diarrhoea, constipation and leucorrhoea. Useful as a tea/wash for mouth ulcers, bleeding gums, inflammation, sore throats and conjunctivitis.

CAUTIONS: Caution during the first trimester. Use sparingly in the second trimester. Use in moderation before 36 weeks.
DOSAGE: Infuse 2 teaspoons of dry herb into 250ml of boiling water for 10-15 minutes. Consume one cup daily at 32 weeks; 2 cups daily from 36 weeks; and 3 cups daily from 39 weeks. May be consumed during labour. Drink 1-2 cups daily during the 6 weeks postnatal recovery period. May add lemon, honey, mint, apple/cranberry/grape juice, or coconut milk for taste.
